PARTY FAVORITES: A SUBTLE REVELRY

I've been sprinkling one of my favorite series here on H+H about so you can get a peek into the party staches of some of the best party planners out there. Are you ready for one more? Victoria from A Subtle Revelry loves to share simple but beautiful ways to celebrate the everyday. She has one of the greatest taglines around...the art of merrymaking!

Her projects and delightful ideas will guide you into living the best life you can, because who doesn't need some little polka dots in their life? (I'm obsessed with these green polka dot glasses she made btw.)  Shall we learn her secrets? Take it away Victoria!

My top three party necessities:

1) Honeycomb balls... I used them recently for a baby shower and just bought a stash of 60 for something fun this fall. You can never have too many honeycombs lying around and finding vintage ones is the best!
2) Small pretty jars.... for favors, tiny drinks, sweets, flowers. You can use these beauties for anything!
3) Woven poofs... We have a set of these that have been used for everything! They are perfect to stack and pull out whenever there is a gathering. Sit them under a coffee table for an outdoor party or throw them around the living room for a movie night.

Thank you so much Victoria for sharing these great sources! I'm off to get little lidded jars, why? Because not only are they cute, but did you see the color? That's a nice shade of green.

HOW TO MAKE SPLATTER PAINT FAVOR BOXES

Remember splatter painting? I remember seeing it everywhere, just like neon, when I was a kid. Now, in it's second time around, it is much more sophisticated in controled pops. Ok, it's not sophisticated but incredibly less tacky than the first time. Pick one color and don't splatter paint everything. Using just these boxes with an other wise 80's free decor is perfect. This is a case of too much of a good thing is well, too much.

Go check out the full tutorial over on Oh Happy Day.

Do you like this rebirth of all things 80's? I don't mind the 80's, it's this grunge resurgence that has me cringing. It just makes me feel old and it wasn't cute the first time around, trust me, it's not going to be cute this time around.

Last call to enter! Have you entered to win your free phone? You could win an HTC One X so enter today, the giveaway ends today, hurry up!

DIY TISSUE PAPER BACKDROP

I am obsessed with this modern and beautifully blue photobooth backdrop. I took white boards, double stick tape and added tissue paper. Remember those art projects with the pencil eraser and tissue squares? I bumped it up a notch. This will soon be hanging in my craft room. Check out the full tutorial on Ruffled.

Have you ever made a huge backdrop? How did you transport it? I used four whiteboards to make this. It is very light and easy to move. Another bonus? You can make multiple boards at the same time, enlist your friends to help and get it done in not time at all.

RANDOM SUMMER GOODNESS: KIWI CRATE SALE

Just popping in to say, KIWI CRATE is having a sale. The creators of awesome craft kits (aka DIYs for minipeople) that are delivered monthly to your little one have reached a crazy number of facebook followers, 15,000! To celebrate they are offering a great discount of $5 to use towards a monthly subscription or in their Celebration shop, just use code 15KFAN

They don't do sales often so, hop to it, summer is HERE. Grab some DIY goodies for your next backyard fete to entertain the short ones or order a monthly crate of fun to be delivered to surprise them. Did you know that if you happen to have children who prefer not to share, don't ask me how I know this, that you can order extra goodies just in case for a few dollars more? There are plenty in the original box for two, but speaking as a mom of two boys, anything that guarantees peace for under $10, I'm all over it.

The sale only lasts until tomorrow, June 20th so go check it out ASAP.
