FUN MODERN HEADLINE FONT: STATION

I love a good crisp headline font and I really love the tall skinny ones. Here's a great deal, Station, a font from Kimmy Kirkwood, has 7 versions and is on sale for $30! I love a good deal. I'm also crazy over fonts that have a great shading. Modern headline fonts are great for banners, placesettings and blog logos. They are also great for those blog images like "We have a winner!" They pop and stand out. Also, because they are pretty clean and modern, as far as fonts go, they match alot of your existing branding.

I couldn't not share the great versions of these - each separately only $7.50. So if one strikes your fancy, snatch it up because introductory font deals don't last forever.  Gosh, look at that number 5. Love it!

FONT FRIDAY: ANOTHER HUNT

I am sure EVERYONE has gotten the new edition of DOMINO, right? I miss the magazine terribly and sometimes regret selling my collection on eBay a few years back. Yep. I do crazy stuff when I am organziing and I sold my copies, the ENTIRE collection for $320. I know some of you want to smack me now, but that's ok. Most of my favorites are in the book.

Did you know you can get some of the old articles at the  BRIDES Magazine site or just do a search on Flickr like THIS or Pinterest like THIS. My personal favorite is THE DOMINO MAGAZINE FILES POOL created by COCO + KELLEY in Flickr.  As always, be careful of your sources dearies, which you only need worry about if you are pinning or reblogging, eyecandy for personal joy is always free. Now, my thought is, are old magazine files just kicking around in a server somewhere? Could we get little a iPad app with the old editions so we can keep them all?

I went a smidge off topic, so let's get back to it, eh? Today's Font Friday is a hunt. In that glorious glossy, that we all are reading and rereading to absorb every last drop we can, are some swanky fonts. I want this. I just don't know what it is. Anyone have a clue?

FONT FRIDAY: GEARED SLAB

Happy Friday! Today, I bring you the newest edition to the LOST TYPE family, GEARED SLAB by graphic designer BEN DALRYMPLE. I love the shape of these letters and it comes with some hefty options for those who like to be a bit more bold in their font.

This font is well designed and would look great in print, letterpress or web design. How would you use this modern traditional style font?

MERRY WEEK

Hello lovelies! I hope you are having a merry, merry Monday! I'm finishing up a few posts for this week this morning and thought I'd pop in to share this teeny bit of sparkle from my friend Catherine at DESIGN EDITOR. She made this little lovely of a font...isn't it wonderful? I keep seeing glitter fonts all over this season and she was so sweet to give the FONT FRIDAY team it for Christmas...Thank you Catherine!  You can get your own glitter alphabet HERE, she even has tags and numbers! 

FONT FRIDAY: ISSUE 27

I had two lovely fonts that I couldn't decide between today. It was tough.  Since option A, I am pretty sure has been shown before, I chose the last minute one, option B, that caught my fancy. I think I am in love with it. Meet Aguas Frescas, by Carla Zetina-Yglesias and Chank Diesel, if this doesn't quench your thirst, nothing will. How fun for holiday gift tags and cards?

But I can't decide if I should buy it for myself, immediate gratification, or spring for the commercial license.  Am I the only one who just noticed that there are now separate licenses on MyFonts.com?  I think it is only for certain fonts. But this font has it.  I think this is one you should spring for the full license...it's no fun having a font as gorgeous as this without being able to share it. 

This comes in two weights, Horchata and Tamarindo, the outline and filled versions.
