HOW TO MAKE A TASSEL FOR A HONEYCOMB BALL

I love tassels, alot. I will admit there are various forms of them sprinkled about this holiday season. You will see, I promise. These guys were inspired by all those beautiful Geronimo Balloons and tassels that I just can't get out of my head. For this DIY, I just made a quick little tassel, easy for even the beginner crafter and attached them to honeycomb balls. Instant AWESOME.

Hang these with clear fishing line to have a floating effect or throw illusion to the wind and just use coordinating yarn or thread, here in hot pink. It is so much easier to work with and adds a bit of punch to your party. If you can't hide it, flaunt it. Check out the full tutorial over on Project Wedding.

SPOONFLOWER NOW PRINT YOUR OWN REMOVEABLE WALLPAPER

Every once in a while I catch a tweet and my heart skips a beat. Today, it was Michelle Edgemont's tweet about Spoonflower's new products...design your own wallpaper. The best part, it is self adhesive (hello renter/party thrower heaven) and removeable. I was so excited I squealed "OH MY GOSH" and both boys came running. I have seen a few options for removeable wallpaper before, but to be able to design your very own, the colors, patterns and designs are spinning around in my head. Thank heavens for Spoonflower, first to be able to make your own fabrics to this? I am so excited, which might be silly to some of you, but DIYers, you know how this feels. Crazy Awesome.

The impact of this totally affordable party/house option is amazing. This is EPIC, and I hate using that word but this is amazing. Don't know how to make your own patterns? I recommend this class from Alma Loveland and Nicole's Classes and you will be able to create whatever your heart desires. Woo Hoo!!

PARTY FAVORITES: ALEXANDRA HEDIN

We just started a new series here called Party Favorites and we have a local celebrity for you today! Party Favorites is a quick and dirty look into what actual party crazed bloggers really do keep on hand to throw their signature AWESOME bashes. Guess who is letting us peek into their toolbox? Here are a few hints: she's a regular on TV, has a beautiful book, styles windows and writes for 425 Magazine

Oh, did I mention she does all this with three of the cutest kids you ever did see? Please welcome Alexandra Hedin, the pal I met on a very, very, very delayed plane to ALT this past January.

Here some of her favorites and she says, To summarize :: I have too much party stuff.  I have an entire room filled with it.  But I cannot live without these three things:

1. PERSONALIZED NAPKINS I have them for every occasion + generic ones that have our monogram and separate ones that just say "Hedin".

2. SERVING TRAYS You can use them to serve off of {obviously} but they also turn any chair/couch/ottoman into a coffee table.  In an assortment of colors they create a look for your party without even trying.  They make Tuesday night taco night fancy too.

3. FAKE-O FANCY APPETIZERS When you just don't want to make anything but you need to do something it's nice to have a fake-o appetizer on hand that looks like you tried.  Good cheddar cheese + crackers + Boat Street Café pickled raisins.  Available at Metropolitan Market and other good grocers.

A huge THANK YOU to Alexandra for being awesome and sharing some of her secrets with H+H today! Am I the only one drooling at the thought of an entertaining closet? Does anyone else have one of these? Thanks again dear and we WILL meet for cupcakes soon!

DIY DRUM BOX

Ok, so it is taking everything I have to not steal this box from the boys. I need to make one myself but in black and white. Or maybe two, or three. Check out the DIY for Hellobee HERE.

The blogcation is coming to an end soon...is there anything you would like to see more of? Less of? Let me know below or by email!

DIY LEATHER GARLAND AND FAVORS

Ever foiled anything? I was wandering the streets with Megan of NOT MARTHA and we discussed foiling glasses and vases. I think I have found my new craft wanderer...what is a craft wanderer? Someone who you don't have to bribe to wander aimlessly looking for inspiration and enjoys gawking at craft supplies as much as you.  She is the first one I have found that I actually live by.  I am in heaven and she is the sweetest thing ever,  LOVE her! I loved all the cute shops she brought us to in Ballard. She told me some secret sources for felt, pretty real wool felt, and she even sent me an email with links of sources mentioned on our trip.

Anyhoo, we both decided we needed the FOILING KIT from Martha Stewart Crafts. I couldn't stop thinking of it and grabbed one ASAP. These silvered necklaces/favors/garlands were the result.

You can pretty much bet that something in each room of my house will be foiled by the end of the week. It will be epic. Sorry, that word is funny, I can't stop using it.  Ed and I read some comment that the "ninties were epic, man" and it is just a running joke in our house now.  The ninties were NOT epic, sorry. Oh no, now bad nineties songs are running in my head...crap. Epic...it is funny, right? Maybe it is just me, nevermind. Go see my tutorial for these bad boys HERE on THE SWEETEST OCCASION.
