HOW TO MAKE A GIANT PAINTERLY BIRTHDAY BANNER

Hi folks! Have you missed me? I have a little treat for you today that ANYONE can make. All you need is a pack of letter sized cardstock, some acrylic paint and a brush. Yep, make your own giant birthday banner. There is no reason to settle for one they sell at the party store when you can make this in 30 mins. All I did was paint, the messier the better, a light color down on the cardstock. Let dry. Add a second messy coat, let the brush strokes show, in the darker color over the top of the first color.  Let dry. String with twine and voila. I told you it was easy.

We've (Jennifer, Jenn, Rina and I) have been hard at work in a whirlwind of a book shoot for Trophy Cupcakes, which finally wrapped up on Friday! Check out the sneak peek available for pre-orders! If you have been following along my instagram you can get more sneak peeks. I know the posts have been light lately, and they will still be a smidge longer, but I am planning some great things for H+H so stay tuned! You see, on top of being crazy busy crafting more crafts than I ever have in a 5 week time frame, I have been sick since I got back from Alt. I finally made it to the doctor (bad Jenny) and got some antibiotics so I should be kicking this bad boy anytime now. There's lots of great things ahead, just bear with me as I get back on track.

HOW TO MAKE A TASSEL FOR A HONEYCOMB BALL

I love tassels, alot. I will admit there are various forms of them sprinkled about this holiday season. You will see, I promise. These guys were inspired by all those beautiful Geronimo Balloons and tassels that I just can't get out of my head. For this DIY, I just made a quick little tassel, easy for even the beginner crafter and attached them to honeycomb balls. Instant AWESOME.

Hang these with clear fishing line to have a floating effect or throw illusion to the wind and just use coordinating yarn or thread, here in hot pink. It is so much easier to work with and adds a bit of punch to your party. If you can't hide it, flaunt it. Check out the full tutorial over on Project Wedding.

FUN WITH FANS

In case you were ever wondering, the second week of the month is my busiest. If you ever stop by the house, you would think it is sheer chaos, and you would be exactly right. A benefit? The third week of the month is always the one with a crazy amount of DIYs. Add in an extra for Father's Day this week and a guest post, like this one above and we are set! When Melanie of YOU ARE MY FAVE asked if I would do a few DIYs for her, of course I squealed with delight and said YES! Go check out my DIY for an easy but fun backdrop made of paper fans

PARTY PALETTE: PINK, RED, AQUA AND CAKE

Saying that I have pink on the brain is putting it mildly. Pink and red has always been a no-no, but I have secretly loved it. Now with all the colorblocking fashions, they go together like frosting and cake.

Thanks to Melanie, of INWARD FACING GIRL for finding this awesome vintage ad that I swiped for this palette.

COLOR CODED COOLERS: RED

izze blackberry // chambord // boylan black cherry // pop shoppe root beer // cherry marnier //
red stripe beer // big red

Need some inspiration for your next fete? Bring in a pop of bold color via your beverages, like this week's shade, RED, from deep blackberry to the classic bubble gum flavored Big Red. Fruit juices also look gorgeous in carafes or old milk bottles.
