Modern Manly Display Font: Idler

Hi folks and HAPPY FONT FRIDAY! If you are looking for something to make your next party pop or save the date stand out, well, look no further. Lots of decorative fonts are pretty girly, the scripts, the swashes; I get it. Weddings are when even the least girly  of girls can pull out the feminine charm. But, sometimes you want to recognize your better half in the festivities and choose something that speaks a little less pink and frilly. Sometimes you just need something to offset the aisles of english roses and provide a bit of contrast. Sometimes, you aren't getting married or throwing a party at all and you just want a rockin' awesome font for your blog header or design project. Idler can be all of that for you and is affordable too. When you can get a entire well designed font family for under $50, that is a screaming deal. Idler brings 6 weights to you for the low low price of $39.95, I love that.

I've had Idler on my list for a while now and while poking around the designer Mark Butchco's site Lamesville, I found this little ditty that shows you how to use the different layers together to create your own font awesomeness.

Fonts are fun. For the blog I typically use only a few, per the recommendation of the amazing Laure Smithwick, but I love that when I am styling or planning a party I get to play around with all kinds of fonts. If it is for a great birthday bunting, a super invite or just a simple cupcake topper, Idler would make for a great addition to the arsenal.
