THE BEST PARTY FOOD IN A BOX

I wanted to share with you one of my secrets when I am planning a party. Box mixes. They are quick, easy and taste delicious. If I can get something that tastes this good in a minimum amount of time, why bother with the extra effort? Sometimes you have to work smart, these box mixes do just the trick.I always have at least one box of each in the pantry. Always.

Jell-o Cheesecake has a graham cracker crust and tastes just like cheesecake only a bit lighter on the waistline. I don't make the full pie, instead I use mini cupcake liners and make bite-sized goodness. Add a topping of Cool Whip with a fancy pasty tip, a sprinking of sparkling sugar and they fit right in on the dessert table. It takes me an actual 15 minutes to prepare these. Sure there is time in the fridge to set, but this is a quick add to your party tool kit.

Cafe du Monde Beignet Mix is incredible. Just add water, roll and fry your little heart out. Dust with powdered sugar and you are set. These are a Christmas morning staple at our house. I only pull out these guns on special occasions, homemade doughnuts? Amazing homemade doughnuts? You can't go wrong to use these for your next brunch buffet.

Fischer Scones Mix is sold in big boxes like this seasonally at my Costco. It pays to buy things like this there because for the price of one and a half gourmet boxes I get four packages. Cost savings and an easy scone. I used to make scones by hand until I tasted these, yum.

Barefoot Contessa's Coconut Cupcake Mix is my favorite cake mix ever in my favorite flavor. Ina's chocolate runs a close second but coconut is the most delicious vanilla cake on earth. What is equally amazing? Her recipe here tastes exactly like the mix. Does anyone else think this so rarely happens with packaged mixes? I keep a box on hand for when I just want cupcakes NOW without having to go to the store.

So, there you have it, my favorite box mixes. I am always trying new ones to find more to add to my easy party style, let me know in the comments if you have any box mix secrets...
