PARTY PALETTE: MIDNIGHT, NAVY, GREY AND SPICE
Monday, August 13, 2012 at 5:00AM I love rich colors, those that are close to black but yet not quite there. This vintage ad from Baker's chocolate caught my eye. Doesn't it look delicious? The pattern on the china is so luxe and I would love to get my hands on at least the cake plate. I think a deeper palette would be lovely and I am always intrigued by food styling that uses it. It is on my list of to-dos and I am dying to get it right. I just love how the dark colors surround and envelope the picture. This palette is perfect for late summer and I would even switch out the spice color with a deeper version of a bright shade like emerald or magenta. This would also be stunning with anything brass colored.

I'm still a brights and whites kinda girl, but it is always fun to play on the dark side every once and a while, right? Do you use dark colors in parties?

I adore these colors - it's precisely what we're doing in the master bedroom right this minute!
I am 100% jealous. I can't wait to see the pictures.
